I'm Not a Kid

"When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways." 1 Corinthinians 13:11 ESV

Aging in our society seems to be a big deal. We often hear and see celebrities going to great lengths to hide the signs of it with products and even surgical means. However, the Bible looks at aging as a gift; the older you are, the more wisdom, experience and knowledge you've been able to obtain. Unfortunately, as we climb the ladder in age, we can sometimes behave as though our youthful experiences have taught us nothing. Sometimes we can behave as if maturity is something we're afraid of, but it shouldn't be. As we grow to new lengths and greater age, let's challenge ourselves to represent Christ through maturity.

Prayer for Today: Dear Lord, you've given me the gift of life. Everyday I learn something new thanks to your presence. Please help me to remember that with gifts come responsibility. Please help me to be responsible for my thoughts and actions, daily, as they are a direct reflection of Your spirit who lives in me. Let your wisdom strengthen me to be a sound-minded adult in this world. In Jesus' name. Amen.
